Step 9 – Hiring A Skip Tracing Virtual Assistant (VA)

Congratulations, your direct mail piece is scheduled to send. What you’ll be doing now is using the Vacant Houses data feed in FreedomSoft to generate leads in addition to your direct mail campaign. Before you see how that tool works, you’ll be posting an ad on Upwork.com to find a VA who has experience skip tracing. This VA, that you end up hiring, will be obtaining the owner of record phone numbers for you to call on these vacant properties. Here are some of the tips mentioned in the video so you don’t have to go back and watch it a 2nd time.

  • Go to upwork.com, set up a free account and then post a New Job.
  • Remember to be brief and to the point.
  • Find someone who already has skip tracing experience so they don’t need to be trained.
  • Hire someone who also has access to skip tracing tools.
  • Some well known skip tracing tools are LexisNexis, Intelius, TLO and PeopleSmart. There are others but these are the fairly common ones.
  • Tell applicants to reply with both their experience level and tools so you can compare them side by side.
  • Go through the replies to find 1-3 VAs who you believe can handle the job well for you and hire them.
